The first mass-produced aircraft in history, the Flying Stagecoach appeared in European skies in the early 1910s. Taking four passengers and their baggage on short trips from city to city, the helixcopter proved to be reliable, safe, and even somewhat glamorous as it plied its trade from Dublin to London to Paris to the Côte d'Azur - and all across the continent. The first Stagecoaches quickly found their way to the United States, where they proved popular as private "flying yachts" for the gilded millionaires of New York. While far too slow for long journeys they proved perfect for island communities in South-East Asia and on ranches in Africa and Australia.
