Auto Credit Based on FlagsWorldwide's Flag of Taiwan

This was the official flag of the Republic of China from 1912-1928. The flag is officially known as the "Five coloured-flag".

It symbolizes ethnic unity- Red represented the Han (over 92% of the population), Manchus (Yellow), Mongols (Blue), Uyghurs (White) and Tibetans (Black).

Credit goes to FlagsWorldWide for pretty much everything. Also, I added a rotator, so now it flaps gently in the wind.

No, it absolutely wasn't- please get your historical facts right. There was only one democratic election then, and that was staged. The former half of the 20th century saw the fall of the Qing dynasty, widespread famine, flooding, natural disasters, Japanese invasion, and a bloody civil war. By 1949, China was a backwater country with a literacy rate of 20% and a national average life-expectancy of 35 years. @Omel

Nearly a century. This was actually an evolution of flags used by the Qing Dynasty, during China's most troubled times. @Omel
