About
First designed and flown in 1935, the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka was one of the most famous and terrifying dive-bombers of World War II. It is most recognizable by its gull wings and fixed landing gear. The Stuka fought in all fronts of World War II, including the Pacific (exported to Japanese). In France, the Stuka was equipped with 2 propellers on the landing gear that when air passed it fast enough, it would create a siren sound that terrified it's victims moments before they would blow up. (I do not have the siren mod because the mod needs improvement). On the Soviet front, the Stuka was fitted with 2 underwing cannon pods that could more easily take out the tanks and trucks it was attacking.
My Stuka is a "B" model, which fought in Poland, France, the Low Countries, and the Battle of Britain. The squadron is a fictional group called the "Flying Mastodons". This took about a week to build and finish. This is also my entry and the winner of FlyingManiac's WWII Bomber Challenge.
