At high speeds try using yaw controls! I personally found it very fun to drift around.

AWCT Lore:

Introduced in 1989, the KP-23 was a High-Speed, High-Maneuverability, High-Efficiency fighter jet, used by the DTC until its retirement in the late 2030s. The KP-23 was highly influenced in design by its sister, the S-84, it is notable to mention the difference of in the DTC's aircraft naming conventions, this is primarily because of the manufacturers of the aircraft themselves, up until the 2207 Universal Organization Naming Convention, aircrafts were named solely by their manufacturers, however, there has been an uptake in Corporate names being used in the DTC recently.

Deploying from the high skies of Cascadian occupied Kryka, the KP-23 Kasper was integral in the subduing of Anucatan revolutionaries, the KP-23 had the was able to take off and stealthily maneuver through robust Soviet (then later Chinese) backed Anti-Air. The KP-23 was an iconic sign of late 20th century/early 21st century DTC and Pacifica, the KP-23 was easily recognizable, with a vaguely stealthy frame, forward swept wings, and snug fitting canards. The KP-23 was most known for its maneuverability, with an effective yet cheap (when compared to other designs) thrust vectoring, allowing it to out maneuver other aircraft and eliminate them swiftly. During the famous Great Atlantian War (Which eventually evolved into "World War 3") over 20 KP-23s were exported to the USA, Tragadaia, and other allied forces in their assaults against opposition forces.

War Stories:

Amidst the fighting in the Anucatan-Krykan Republic War, Lieutenant Kalon Sovann fought in a Hawaiian born, Cascadian raised Squadron. Leiutenant Sovann lead his squadron in combat against Anucata, writing their very own tales of battle as they fought. Sovann and "Kane" Squadron were known to fly dangerously, weaving between mountains and clouds, zipping around the sky like a dragonfly, a valiant fighter. Sovann finally cemented himself into Cascadian lore in the grandest battle in the Anucatan-Kryan Republic War, the Battle of the DTS Maria, the DTS Maria was a Democratic Territories Navy Aircraft Carrier positioned off the coast of Anucata, on July 10th, 1996, the Maria was beached due to intense fighting and weather, after which the Anucatan forces swarmed the carrier, with Cascadian and Krykan ships rushing to assist. From the DTS Maria's sister ship, the Columbia, Sovann took off in his trusty KP-23 Jasper, the Jasper "Zipped through the air like an arrow, with a soft white trail following." according to a bystander. Sovann and his squadron once at the warzone, buzzed the battlefield, flying low and fast, reportedly knocking both assaulting and defending forces to the ground, Sovann then quickly swung the nose of his Jasper to opposite direction, getting tone on 2 Anucatan CAS aircraft and swiftly downing them. Sovann decimated over 12 Anucatan aircraft, 7 of which being CAS and the rest being a mix of helicopters, fighters, and bombers. Sovann did not just earn himself a place in Cascadian and Krykan culture, but also in his home country of Hawaii, even changing international views of the Kingdom of Hawaii, changing the humble trading country into a fierce country with fire in their blood. Sovann died in 2046 of heart complications, his memory is forever remembered with a hand-made marble structure in the Cascadian Super Air Base of Fort Orchard, located south east of Colorado Springs.
