GF-5A

Auto Credit Based on Gaffate's My First Fighter v2.1

My first swing wing fighter! This plane quite slower than my previous jet fighter (G-2) to make it more "realistic"

VTOL for Wing Sweep
AG1 for Extra Countermeasures
AG2 for Tail Hook
AG3 to Drop Wing Weapon

Lore:
After the success of the G-2, many prototypes were designed based off it. One of them being the GY-5, which is based on another prototype, the GY-3/A, a double delta prototype based off the G-2 with its engines attached to the fuselage instead of being on the wing.

The GY-3/A had severe issues, leading it to being cancelled, and redesigned into the GY-5. the original design had a shorter fuselage and inlets, with the canards being infront of the inlets. This was changed in the GY-3C, which lengthened the inlets and removed the canards. The canards were readded in the GY-5D along with the increased length of the fuselage and inlets. the GY-5D became the production variant, leading to GF-5, which was quickly replaced by the GF-5A(this plane). The difference was the removal of the outer wing pylons, which were causing issues, and weight redistribution, shifting the center of mass forward a bit to assure balance in full forward swept wing position.

Despite this, its reliance on fuel to balance the vehicle caused issues on low fuel, especially on the forward wing sweep configuration. Only 15 GF-5As were produced, as the plane was quickly superceded by the GF-5B, which fixed the issue.
