SKYREAVER

Skyreaver is the Finettan Air Force multirole heavy fighter developed to serve as the service core strike and command aircraft. The design centers on a forward sweep wing that has undergone extensive research and refinement to yield aerodynamic advantages in maneuverability and handling that are not common among contemporary fighters. The airframe benefits from mass produced high grade composite materials that permit structural performance normally associated with expensive bespoke composites while maintaining the cost and repeatability advantages of production scale manufacturing.

The aircraft carries the most powerful airborne radar that can be integrated on a fighter platform. This radar provides long range detection and simultaneous target tracking for multiple threats. The system also supports secure data sharing so that Skyreaver can act as a sensor and battle manager for other platforms such as the light fighter Argent. Networked operations increase the effectiveness of the fleet by improving situational awareness and allowing multiple aircraft to prosecute targets cooperatively.

Propulsion is provided by two engines that are identical to those used by Argent. Engines are mounted high above the wing roots to reduce susceptibility to runway debris and foreign object damage. This arrangement improves engine longevity and reduces maintenance complexity for field crews. Commonality of engines and ancillary components permits interchange of spare parts and cross training of mechanics between Skyreaver and Argent units. The design supports rapid engine removal and replacement when required.

Endurance and persistence were emphasized in the design brief. Large internal fuel capacity is supplemented by a certified aerial refuelling capability which extends mission radius and on station time. The combination of internal fuel and tanker refuelling supports prolonged area denial, maritime patrol, and carrier strike missions. Skyreaver is certified for carrier operations and can employ anti ship missiles in addition to an internal and external air to air and air to ground weapon set.

Operational usability and sustainment were central to the programme. Systems and subsystems are modularized so that line level maintenance is efficient and upgrades can be implemented without extended depot cycles. Avionics and mission systems are designed to be maintainable by Finetta’s existing logistics and training infrastructure. The aircraft supports straightforward mission reconfiguration to meet the demands of fleet air defence, long range strike, maritime interdiction, and cooperative sensor roles.

Pilot selection and training reflect the platform’s central position in the Finettan force structure. Only pilots with extensive experience on Argent are cleared to fly Skyreaver. This requirement ensures that Skyreaver pilots are among the most seasoned aviators in service. Operational doctrine encourages individual pilot initiative within disciplined coordination and rewards tactical creativity. Pilots develop varied and extreme approaches to engagement including high altitude stand off, low level ingress to exploit radar blind spots, high speed intercept profiles, coordinated envelopment, and close in agile combat where appropriate.

Skyreaver embodies Finetta’s defence principles of disciplined capability, industrial pragmatism, and operational reliability. The aircraft combines advanced sensing and networking with logistic commonality and maintainable structures to deliver a force multiplier that is resilient, scalable, and difficult to counter. The result is a platform that dominates the roles for which it was designed while remaining compatible with the broader Finettan fleet and sustainment doctrine.
