With war on the horizon, DLA was contracted to develop an aircraft capable of high climb rates and high maneuverability in order to not only defend the country's airspace, but to deploy from allied bases and engage potential aerial targets as quickly as possible and with minimal to no losses - This lead to the development of the DL-14 Swiftstrike. Subsequent upgrades were made to meet the changing environment of the war while still maintain the aircraft's main advantages.
