The Ghoul was Snowstone's and JAC's first native interceptor equipped with radar missiles. Despite being designed with bomber hunting in mind, it was rather nimble and capable in a turnfight. It was capable of short takeoff distances, however the fuel tanks and missile payload it typically carried negated that design and left little margin for error on takeoffs. The Ghoul A lacked more advanced IR guided missiles or countermeasures, which would be added on the later variants as air-to-air combat became more common.
