The Boeing 737-800 is an extended variant of the 737-700. This variant replaces the 737-400 . The Boeing 737-800 competes with the Airbus A320 which was launched a few years earlier. The 737-800 can accommodate 162 passengers in a two-class configuration or 189 passengers in a full economy configuration.
