Polikarpov I-16 Type 24 Ishak

24.3k Mikan  5.3 years ago

After painful hours of fine tuning, I present a surprisingly rare I-16 Ishak replica.

The I-16
Polikarpov I-16 is the successor to the I-15, produced en mass by the USSR. The aircraft was also utilised in China in the Second Sino-Japanese War. The performance of the I-16 Type 24 was similar to that of the Japanese A6M2, though slightly worse.

The name, Ishak (mule), is a nickname given to the I-16 by its pilots, due to the name I-16 sounding similar, and the stubby fuselage.

The Replica
This replica focused more or so on performance, with it being mostly historically accurate. You might want to increase the engine power to 850 or so.
1:1 scale, 1:1 proportion, apart from the wings. They are the best I can do without going into full custom nor using XML.

Do not, get me started on the Landing gear being unhistorical. I’ll smite.

The plane has accurate damage segmentation (according to WarThunder). Modded guns and health.
