The Sokarev Autogyro was an experimental military aircraft to see if autogyros were viable for the Alaskan Navy and Air Force, who were beginning to look into VTOL technology. Tsar Camden I authorized the project but after the Alaskan Civil War (1932-1935), the new Congressional Parliament had decided to cut funding after only 4 prototypes were made in the span of 6 years. The Military canceled the contract with Sokarev Aero after deeming the prototypes “Jittery and Unreliable.” This is the 4th prototype, outfitted with 2 machine guns.
