Continental Mk I

1,711 lis  3.4 years ago

I decided to go look through my ancient English class notebook, and I found a tank doodle. So I decided to create it on SimplePlanes.

Designed in the classic British riveted armor fashion, the Continental Mk I has some pretty heavy armor, but it will still shatter and spall if hit by something powerful. Or an ATGM. it doesn't like those. Equipped with a 75mm cannon, the Continental will do some significant damage to whatever it aims at. If it hits it.
Twin diesel bus engines (hmmmm) propel this tank to ridiculously high speeds for its power/weight ratio, but I don't know how to govern speed on these things. The main advantage of this engine is the glorious black diesel smoke it spews out the rear.
This is also my first tank with neutral steering. Of course, this required some over-complicating on the drivetrain, but that's okay. Each track is operated independently, so if you want to spin on a dime, run one track forward and the other backward. Or, you can simply run one track forward while braking the other track.
