Background: Sale of Bombardier Challenger 600 Series (EchoJet-600US) to United Simple
In 2014, as part of its National Strategic Mobility Initiative, the government of United Simple sought to replace its outdated VIP and utility jet fleet with a modern, rugged, and multipurpose platform. After extensive evaluation, Bombardier Aerospace’s Challenger 600 Series—specifically a modified high-wing variant—was selected for acquisition.
Why It Sold in United Simple:
- High-Wing Configuration: The high wing placement of the EchoJet-600US was a major selling point. Unlike traditional business jets with low wings, the high-wing design allows:
Better ground clearance, especially useful for unprepared or rough airstrips common in Lockheed State and frontier zones in Yorktown.
Reduced debris ingestion into engines during off-runway operations.
Easier loading/unloading of passengers or cargo from low platforms or vehicles.
Improved surveillance angles when configured with ISR pods under the fuselage.
Multi-Role Capability: The aircraft can rapidly shift between VIP transport, medevac, and light logistics missions—perfect for the varied needs of United Simple's civilian government and paramilitary wings.
Neutral Manufacturer: Canada's Bombardier was politically palatable for United Simple, whose foreign policy values neutrality and independence.
Cost and Maintenance: Featuring long-range efficiency and proven reliability, the aircraft matched the country’s need for low life-cycle costs without sacrificing capability.
Designation and Deployment:
The high-wing version, internally designated EchoJet-600US, was deployed to:
New Fork Executive Air Service for government leadership transport
Yorktown Air Command for border patrol and medevac readiness
Unified State Security Force (USSF) as a secure liaison aircraft
