Full description soon.

Think of this as the MiG-21 as it might have been.

The Mikoyan Gurevich Ye-148

Role; All weather interceptor
First flew; 1956 (prototype) 1959 (in service)
Weapons; 2 30mm cannon, 2 AA-2 missiles

Controls;
AG1 Ditch Missiles
AG2 Landing Lights
AG3 Nav lights
AG4 Landing Chute
AG5 Toggle reheat (off from start)
AG6 Pilot Chute
AG7 Eject (eject procedure is AG7 to depart the airframe, then AG6 to pop chute)
AG8 Toggle variable geometry systems (on from start).
GEAR Toggle landing gear
Trim Set pitch attitude
VTOL Down - flaps (1/4 for take off, full for landing)

For take off it is suggested to;
- turn off wing swing
- activate re heat (note that deactivating re heat requires throttling back to idle before deactivating AG5)
- 1/4 flap
- trim nose up 1/6
- throttle up full and hang on to your ass.

Once airborne, activate AG8. Wing angle is tied to throttle position. Note that the variable position inlet cone is also tied to AG8 and throttle position.

Spasiba, komrade!

    Oh, and it tirns out those AA-2 Atoll missiles are actually DeHavilland Firestreaks... Deviously reverse engineered Soviet Firestreaks, of course...

    @GhostHTX In the absence of vodka, apparently canopy de-icing fluid was the tipple of choice for Soviet aircrew at Forward Operating Bases.
