A version of the Eagle Interceptor more based on the LEGO set (70003 Eris' Eagle Interceptor).
Ironically, this is the second modification of my build, yet I also unintentionally captured the "feel" of a flawed first-generation predecessor (even more ironically the result of me brute-forcing fixes into this one's design to make it a smidgen more controllable).
After much frustrating tests and cheats through a hidden TVC and Funky Trees, I've decided to publish this in its latest form.
Description below based on the set's blurbs and heavy speculation...
The "Classic" Eagle Interceptor
Fledgling pride of the Eagle Tribe
The fashionable predecessor of the Eagle Tribe's mainstay fighter.The first-generation "classic"-type Interceptor boasts design elements that would become standard in later iterations (such as its general design, functions and armament) while having coloration evoking the Eagle tribe's architecture and diverse feather colors.
Features unique to the classic-type Interceptor include a multifunction compartment (acting as storage, cargo, prison cell, etc.), individual stabilizer fins (fused into one moveable segmented unit later on for extra stability and control) and fin-less cockpit pod with slightly angled-down wings, in addition to being slightly faster than future Interceptor iterations. For armaments, it uses standard rapid-fire blasters, a pair of medium blaster cannons (upgraded to heavy blasters in future iterations) and a pair of FLICKER (Flighty Chi-Kinetic-Explosive Rocket) multirole missiles.
Compared to the modern Interceptors (which lack fly-by-wire for the main body's control surfaces), the classic-type was paradoxically more and less stable and had intentionally downgraded maneuverability as a safety precaution, albeit still remaining infamously difficult to control (the most peculiar issue being its tendency to slowly "list" from side to side, a side-effect of its crude and overdone fly-by-wire systems). Additionally, its FLICKER missiles were powerful but heavy and complicated to manufacture, with their glass-cased Chi warheads being delicate and fragile (paradoxically making them both dangerous to handle yet also safe as the stored Chi will just dissipate back to the environment). Perhaps notably, the classic-type was notoriously easy to hijack by hostile pilots (as seen during the Wolf Tribe's attack on Eagle Spire) though it was more of a security problem rather than an inherent issue with the cockpit design (as shown with modern Interceptors being just as easy to hijack, and only the most ballsy of non-Eagles would dare fly classic-types anyway).
Though since phased out of regular service, classic-type Interceptors remain in operation as armed transports and are also used by Royal Eagle Special Forces in many daring operations (who make use of its multifunction compartment for surprise insertions/extractions and versatile armament for heavy tactical bombardments).
