The B-29 superfortess was a heavy bomber built in the United stated during the latter half of the Second World War by Boeing to replace the already outdated B-17 series of strategic bombers, first introduced in 1944 and lasting until 1960, but by then almost all of them were converted mid-air refuelling aircraft, but even they were replaced by jet powered aircraft (both bombers and A2A refuelling aircraft)
