Auto Credit Based on YarisSedan's [Fixed] (SimpleTrains) 1983 EMD SD40-2 Conrail Livery
A genset locomotive is a locomotive in which a number of smaller diesel engines are used rather than a single large engine. The term is short for "generator set."
this train right here is a rebuilt SD40-2 built into a fictional Genset type locomotive. this thing is quite powerful for a genset thanks to its 4 Cummins QSK15 generators in it but like all gensets it sucks ass at existed.
wiki for gensets if you dont know what it is
oh and fun fact, the US army owns gensets.
not a joke btw.

@Graingy actually we fixed that msi laptop on a 3rd party shop since it's literally sitting unused for an entire year and thus didn't work at all
@YarisSedan I wasn’t aware they were possible to repair outside of shops. Figure it was all so tightly packed that it’s infeasible, like trying to repair a modern television.
@Graingy yeah, there's a reason right to repair laws are important
@Boeing727200F oh ok cool
@XM803ENJOYER46 yeah had to take it down as the OG poster was found and reuploaded it.
here it is btw
Your post!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait, people buy parts for laptops?
@YarisSedan Crikey.
I've not heard of that other brand either.
Ts my first time seeing a genset in sp, im in awe 🥹😭
tl:dr, msi laptop isn't better than that toshiba laptop i used to have before it shits itself, the only silver lining is that since msi still makes laptops while toshiba didn't, parts for it aren't difficult and expensive to come by
@Graingy msi is a decent brand, it's just that this particular model is presumably a very low end one since a random free steam game that i don't think is that resource intensive i tried running it on runs like shit, like no joke it runs on sub 2fps, and if you're wondering, my father gave it to me, which in turn he got it from the secondhand market
@YarisSedan Can't say I've heard of the brand MSI before. What are its specs? Can it run SP?
Tangentially related, but I recently found out my sibling got an old PC from a friend of theirs (who I've never met, as have I not met many of their current friends, but I digress). Issue is, it's from like 2017, and I'm not sure if it were high-end even then.
They did say it was a bit below another friend's 2018-high-end PC. In any case, its only practical value is probably just to get their Windows in order as they're otherwise an Apple user. Fancy tower though, and they did get a new keyboard and monitor for it. And storage 'cause no hard drive.
Where was I going with this? Right.
Brought that up as I'm wondering if its a similar situation, only really useful to get stuff set up but not to actually play current games.
@Boeing727200F also, good news i finally had a laptop, and a fucking steam account a few weeks ago :D
bad news is that it's an msi, an entry level one at that lmao
@Boeing727200F yeah, those happened
@YarisSedan ...
christ wtf happened
@Boeing727200F yes, it is i
also, so much shit happened in my life like the fact that i'm now in private school due to my history of violence, or the fact that my neighbors mother died a few weeks ago, alot of it is kinda heavy stuff tbh, though thankfully my new classmates although just as annoying as my previous school is genuinely nice as fuck
OH WAIT SHIT THAT IS YOUR MAIN IT IS BACK TOO
@YarisSedan this is (from what i believe) the 1st genset on the site and the second time somebody mentioned a genset, the other time being me on one of my older random fun fact of the days.
goofy ass goober :3
OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
*me seeing mods*
