Hughes 269 – A Legendary Light Trainer
The Hughes 269 is a light utility helicopter developed by Hughes Tool Company's Aircraft Division in the mid-1950s. First flown in October 1956, it was designed to provide a low-cost, reliable platform for flight training and light utility missions. The helicopter features a three-bladed fully articulated main rotor and a two-bladed tail rotor, powered by a 180 hp Lycoming O-360 engine. Its simple design and excellent handling characteristics made it a popular choice for civilian operators and flight schools.
In 1964, the U.S. Army adopted a modified version of the 269A as its primary training helicopter, designated the TH-55A Osage. Over 60,000 Army pilots trained on the TH-55A, making it the Army's longest-serving training helicopter until it was replaced in 1988. The Hughes 269's enduring legacy is a testament to its effective design and versatility.
This build is a tribute to that iconic aircraft. My intention was to create just one helicopter, as I don’t have much time available. It features a simple interior, and while I’m not sure if it works in VR, that wasn’t my main goal — I simply wanted to bring this design to life. Due to little experience here, I don't know how to add more images of the aircraft.
Enjoy the flight, and if you liked it, feel free to leave an upvote or a comment!

It took me a long time to build this aircraft, it will take me a while to post something else personally.
