History *
In need of a modern vehicle to replace the aging half-tracks in service, several companies were asked to design and develop a new personnel carrier that could withstand the small arms fire foreseen on a battlefield. The JinShan Company designed and built a prototype in 1971 for evaluation by the military. Although, unlike its contemporaries, the prototype was not amphibious so it was deemed unfit for use by the Navy or Marines, but it was adequate for service within the Army. The design was simplistic and easy to manufacture. With its engine, the vehicle could travel at a top speed of around 30 mph, but braking at top speed abruptly could be damaging to the vehicle and it’s passengers. The vehicle had a crew of two, a driver and a machine gunner/co-driver and it could carry up to 13 fully armed soldiers. The vehicle was adopted into army service in 1971 as the Tracked APC Type 71 Lei Ma. It was selected due to its ease of maintenance and good carrying capacity, but the machine gun mounted in the front hull was an outdated idea that was to be rectified in later production models along with the transmission.

Notes
I tried to get the vehicle to turn without a gyro but I couldn’t figure it out so it uses a powerful one to turn.
I like that camouflage pattern. It took me a bit to finally settle on that scheme. Feedback is appreciated. There was a guy that helped me with the turning system on the SPCS but I can’t seem to remember their name.
Please enjoy some low quality screenshots.
