After the failed order of A330 and A340 for Mallard Pacific which intended to replace the Airbus A300B4-200, Boeing 747SP, McDonell Douglas DC-10 due to financial trouble and danger of bankruptcy. The CEO of Mallard Pacific, Donald Joseph Harris cut his salary and restructure Mallard Pacific. Harris feel hopeless what to do. So he have a new idea, Ordering the Efficient dual jet aircraft that much comfortable like A330, The Boeing 777 which have larger size, wider cabin, greater range capability. With the first Boeing 777-200 delivered Mallard Pacific on 7 July 1997 with registration N7701 (This aircraft still active as on 2025)
From 1997 to 2000. Over 30 Boeing 777-200 Delivered to Mallard Pacific which surpassing United Airlines that operating Boeing 777-200.
The Boeing 777-200 of Mallard Pacific is used for Domestic flight or fly to The States of United States.
Behind this success, there is 2 incident of Boeing 777-200 of Mallard Pacific which caused by Engine Failure explosion:
-Mallard Pacific flight 1903, 30 June 2016 (Registration: N7706). The engine explode while en route from Ducktonia to Tokyo Haneda international. The aircraft declare mayday and safely landed at Los Angeles International Airport saving 293 people on board
-Mallard Pacific flight 1870, 29 May 2022 (Registration: N7713). The engine explode while en route from Ducktonia to John F Kennedy International, New York. The mayday and emergency land was made at Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas saving 205 people on board
As of 2025, there are 27 Boeing 777-200 in service in Mallard Pacific. 3 aircraft are already sold to other airlines on December 2001.
All Boeing 777-200 of Mallard Pacific will be retired at the end of the 2020s decade and replaced by Boeing 787-10.
