XS-60A Nebulosa Prototype-1A

Auto Credit Based on ThePurpREDedComarde1945's THE FICTIONAL CHALLENGE

The XS-60 is a manned hypersonic aircraft fitted with a experimental "turboscramjet" engine, and(yet to be installed) reconnaissance equipment for espionage missions.

This version is a roughly finished prototype phase of the project meant to test engine perfomance and structural reliability at hypersonic speeds.

Flight Notes:

Turning on the engine: At your right in the cockpit, flip the switches named "Main Engine" and "Scramjet Engine" below the Throttle lever. Then you good to go.

Subsonic Cruise Mode: Below 590 MPH, the plane features an extra pair of horizontal stabilizers to help at takeoff, cruise flight and landing. At above this speed, they will auto-retract as the plane reaches Mach 1.

Hypersonic Flight: Once you reach Mach 2, the Main engine is going to automatically shut down and the Scramjet will be engaged, pushing the plane through a very absurd acceleration all the way to Mach 12. At this point, you must keep the plane as still as possible(or turn on Autopilot in the menu), otherwise, the aircraft will keep climbing towards a compressed and barely controllable flight towards space.) The Scramjet can be cut off by pressing AG1.

Ejection System: At any point and speed, if things get bad, you just need press the big red button right next to you at your right. Upon pressing it, it will eject the entire cockpit away from the aircraft, with parachutes that will open automatically and slow you down. The cockpit is also designed to float if it lands in the water.

Landing: The aircraft has proven to be quite challenging to land, try to keep it above 400 MPH with around 15%-25% in the Throttle. Once you touch, go all out on the Brakes.

Full production version coming soon...

@Supersoli8 Thanks bro. I do hope to win but I already see some tough and great looking competition already, it's up for the challenge creator to decide.

@Morsele It was my method of adding a somewhat "camera system" since it isn't possible to have it without mods, and it would be impossible to fly it in first person if it was covered.

If you want to build something like this in your builds, you basically just need to XML edit the "hideInside" property into a 100% opacity hollow glass fuselage block and paint it.

@brOrbitalDynamics no problem. i like the look of this plane. it's pretty realistic. and the nose looking transparent from the cockpit is a really cool idea! i wouldn't have thought of that method!
