The Pz.lll VK3.04v is a modernized model based on the VK3.01A in 1968, which adds a composite skirt armor, replaces the original ZIS-6 tank gun with a 100mm smoothbore gun that can fire new armor-piercing projectiles, and adds an infrared night vision detector.
