Galteran Alliance Faircroft F.3

480 norcourt  one year ago

Initially designed following the GAAF's Deep Penetration Fighter Program, the Faircroft F.3 bore the brunt of the action in what would eventually become known as the 8 Months Campaign, of the Bosoran Border War. With the stalemate and bloodbath continuing on the ground, the GAAF had begun strategic carpet bombing en masse along the border cities of Bosora, opposed by the high skilled and numerous Bosoran Flying Corps. Introduced to combat this, the F.3 was brought into service in 2237, immediately being adopted by Escort Squadrons on the front, who praised the F.3 for it's ease of maintenance and ruggedness in the field. Though not the most nimble of fighters. the F.3 was relatively cheap and easy to manufacture, while still reaching 465 mph at 24,000 feet. The craft also featured excellent fuel economy, hence it's development as an escort fighter. Several variants of the F.3 would continue to be produced and adopted, including a strike fighter variant, which featured two wing mounted rocket pods. An icon of the Bosoran Border War, and the proceding conflicts of the early 2240s, the Faircroft F.3 would remain a workhorse fighter for the Galteran Alliance for many years to come.
