The T26E1-1, aptly named the “Super Pershing” was a modification of the M26 that equipped a 90mm T15E1 gun along with the extra armour welded onto the gun mantlet and front hull, later extra plates were welded onto the mantlet plate in order to protect the turret cheeks (especially the loaders side as first stage ammo was stored there), only one was ever sent to Europe during the Second World War and was shortly after discontinued as the reclassification of the M26 to medium tank took place.

The T26E1-1s armour plates were so heavy that the suspension on the front of the tank was over stressed to the point that the entire vehicle would lean forward 3 degrees
