Designed for a PALA fast vertical lift program in the 2050s, the UH-90 was conceptualized as a medium-sized compound utility helicopter, but has since been fitted with numerous weapon stations allowing it to occupy a gunship role. Featuring a coaxial rigid rotor system and two reversible turbine-electric ducted fans in pusher configuration, the Ibis can rapidly reach high cruising speeds before decelerating to a vertical landing in less than 30 seconds.
