RAF-23 Medved

29.6k VenusLancer  11 months ago

Compared to the old one, this version has a lot of internal changes

Weight, Lift and general performance

the old Raf-23 weight was just fuel, when you are low on fuel the fighter turned like a X-29 and the landing procedures were too complicate. this new version have a new weight balance starting from the clean fighter, then the weapons, and finally the fuel

Speed

this RAF-23 reachs better the speed that are designed, Mach 2.25 at 40000ft (1502kt) and 850kt at sea level, being a fast interceptor

Manuevability

as any heavy Interceptor is not too important the manuevability, dogfighting with other realistic fighters is ok, but compared with regular fighters in the website you feel it

Weapons

the biggest change that i made in terms of combat, were the weapons, the old missiles are outdated, i actually changed the weapons for:

4 R73 Based Missiles, this ones has a quick lock and can be fired at your 6's it have a maximun range of 30km

3 R37 / R37 inspired Missiles, this ones are long range missiles that have a range of 400km (220 miles aprox) and a max speed of Mach 4 (2666kt) giving a important advantage over the enemy

4 Bomb Racks: this are oversized bombs (150%) that have a fast deploy interval, perfect to destroy a group of enemies in one pass

2 Subsonic Cruise missiles: generally inspired in the Kh-35, is a powerful cruise missile with a range of 200km

1 30mm Canon with 250 explosive rounds

Optimal speeds or positions
