QUICK DISCLAIMER: THIS CAR IS FICTIONAL, THE SERIES IS FICTIONAL, AND I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT THERE IS A WOMAN BASKETBALL PLAYER CALLED SOPHIA GIBSON, WHICH IS THE NAME OF THE DRIVER.

GPF1: The Bullet of All Formula Cars

Quick description: GPF1: standing for Grand Prix Fomula 1 (no copyright infringement intended), is an international racing series based in Tarania going all around the planet of Novara, GPF1 has been considered one of the most competitive racing series. Cars going up to 430 km/h (267 mph), 6 way car battles for the win, many of them resulting in blowover crashes (non fatal), how do drivers even pull this off? Well, to answer that, experience. This car belongs to the second best driver in GPF1, the Sophomore Racer, last season’s Rookie of the Year, Sophia Gibson. One of the greatest drivers to even touch one of these cars..

GPF1 is something known as a “Spec Series,” where all cars have similar, if not the same cars. There are two Aero kits in the series. Ford Aero Kit, which is made via help from the Clover Aerospace Division, and the Chevrolet Aero Kit. Made with help from Mercedes AMG.

Lore:

In the first years of the 1990s, specifically, April 12, 1992, the Racing Committee of Novara (RCN) founded a new series to compete with the FIA's Formula 1. Originally, it was known as Formula 0, or F0. Though, in January 5th, 2005, the FIA asked them to rebrand their name to something else, like GPF1 (Grand Prix Formula 1). So, the greatest racing series of Novara had been rebranded to a wayyy better name. Today, both the RCN and FIA share ownership of the series.

@Wz also the spontaneous combustion is really weird. idk how to fix it.

To avoid this just don't stay on the white line too long.

    @Wz also thanks

@Wz the average car crash in this league is a plane crash.

The car likes to fly, sometimes when I corner the car spontaneously blows up (maybe something to do with the prop engine idk). Overall a great car 👍. I like how you put the parts on pistons so that they'd break away realistically.

I'm not sure if this'll add anything to the conversation but anyway...
F1 cars are shaped to be low drag, their down force comes from mostly from ground effect generated from venturi tunnels combined with rear diffuser designs while the Wings only generates about 25%-35% (very rough estimation). Slicks are grippier than semi slicks because they have more surface contact area to the ground because they don't have grooves, which also causes hydro/water/aquaplaning when the surface is wet since there aren't any grooves for the water to move aside and allow contact.

@CloverAerospaceDivision not an aerodynamics expert so I wouldn't know, but downforce doesn't change the fact that not all the tire is on the track, because the reason why semi-slicks don't have as much grip as slicks is because not all the tire is touching the track, and that combined with downforce means that it still is more grippy than a slick on a lower downforce car, the same car with slicks will have more grip due to the amount of the tire touching the track

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 I think this car has more down force than an F1 car.

@CloverAerospaceDivision from my experience in sim racing, that doesn't really change much, that's mainly condition dependent, and even on a dry surface treads are just slower than slicks (I've driven a F1 car on a sim in the dry with treads)

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 also chose tread tires to make the car harder to drive

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 anyways enough of this let’s move to a not argument conversation. How was the F1 movie in your opinion?

  • Profile image

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 not a problem when your formula car casually goes 267 mph while producing more downforce than an F1 car.

  • Profile image

@CloverAerospaceDivision first of all, most downforce cars use slicks, not just F1 cars, second, semi-slicks, while all weather, will still get outpaced by slicks, it's kinda just how it works, even the highest downforce cars will still be faster on a slick than a semi slick

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 buddy we ain’t F1 cars. You know those Forza semi-slick tires? Yeah that is similar to what we use.

  • Profile image

@CloverAerospaceDivision on the matter of tires, slicks will always be faster with a car like this, downforce can't make up for it because you'd still always be faster, however if you don't want to have to change tires because of rain then it's fine

@CloverAerospaceDivision oh, I thought you were in the discord and just didn't notice/remember who you were

  • Profile image

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 I don’t have discord, parents too strict, also, these tires are all weather tires. The downforce makes up for the loss of grip

although one thing I did notice, why do you have tread tires instead of slicks?
