The HQ-2 surface-to-air missile was developed by China in imitation of the Soviet SAM2 missile , but with 21 technical improvements. On September 8, 1967, the People's Liberation Army Air Force used HQ-2 missile for the first time to shoot down a U-2 over Jiaxing,Zhejiang Province.
