Autogyro-W1222

This is an Autogyro (Aircraft using unpowered rotors to generate lift)

so there is no power at all for the two main rotors. It flies more like an airplane. The main rotor of an autogyro creates lift force (similar to a regular airplane wing)

.

"An autogyro (from Greek a?t?? and ?????, "self-turning"), also known as a gyroplane, is a type of rotorcraft that uses an unpowered rotor in free autorotation to develop lift. Forward thrust is provided independently by an engine-driven propeller. While similar to a helicopter rotor in appearance, the autogyro's rotor must have air flowing across the rotor disc to generate rotation, and the air flows upwards through the rotor disc rather than down."
- Wikipedia

And so, this is my test on Autogyro in SimplePlanes. And it works perfectly -

So, there is NO ENGINE POWER at all - for the main rotor

Takeoff:

It flies more like an airplane; it needs a short runway to take off (VTOL up 100% and throttle to 100%, run and take off. The main rotor will act like a wing from a normal aircraft.

Landing

VTOL to 50%, lower the throttle to 50%, nose up, and land like a helicopter or use the runway like a plane. But it has a shorter landing distance than a regular airplane.

Have fun; I would like to share some exciting aviation concepts if you are new to them.

@WinsWings This is awesome, I’ve never flown an autogyro but the design is really believable! It’s easy to fly and It reminds me of a beefed up hawk 4 lol, thanks for the feedback and spotlight on my midge
