Bell XP-770 - Emergency Jet fighter

Alternative history

During WW2, restrictions on civilian use of strategic materials were adopted by all the main players of the war. These restrictions have been made to ensure that troops would have all the necessary resources to combat the enemy and keep the lines stable. The idea of troops being destroyed due to lack of ammo, weapons, or even food was terrifying, but nonetheless, possible.
With this in mind, the Americans have created a unique aircraft development program that, instead of trying to create the next big fighter, was concentrated on being able to provide a viable option to the American industry to fabricate a fighter plane with minimal use of strategic resources like aluminum in case of shortage.
The result of this program was the Bell XP-770, emergency jet fighter....
... Wait, what?

Description:

This is the XP-770, my second work in my "emergency jet fighter" series of builds.
I just love the idea of a bare-bones plane made to be just enough to defend a country, and since the Americans actually had one program with such purpose (the XP-77), why not just throw a jet engine on it?
