Dussack

The Dussack is the OTHER major fighter of the Blessed Germanic Empire's air force. Heavily armed with 4 20 mm cannons and 2 13 mm machine guns, this versatile aircraft uses a powerful radial engine as the power plant of an aircraft equally at home fighting enemy aircraft and bombing ground targets.

Whereas the Katzbalger is a specialized short-ranged interceptor intended to counter fast aircraft like the CIR's, the Dussack is a purpose-made strike fighter equipped with a bomb bay that complements it's wing-mounted payload, allowing it to provide close air support and attack tactical targets beyond enemy lines, while also having the endurance and firepower needed to counter the SFR's heavily-armed bombers. In many ways, if the Katzbalger can be seen as the spiritual successor of the Bf-109, then the Dussack is analogous to the Fw-190's attack versions.

Dussacks are most commonly seen in support of the client kingdoms of the Empire in Eastern Europe, which serve as the Blessed Germanic Empire's source of raw materials and manpower, but is particularly troubled by unrest aided by the Free Network.
