Info about this build
The YM P2-130-01 "Fishball" is a fictional seaplane I created, inspired by aircraft such as the ShinMaywa US-2, the PBY Catalina, and other maritime patrol seaplanes.
Performance:
- Stall speed: around 70 km/h (≈44 mph)
- Landing speed: ~110 km/h (≈68 mph) (full flaps)
- Cruise speed: 282 km/h (≈175 mph)
(What are the things that I have to measure btw?)
Role:
As for its role… I didn't really clarify that during the build, since I honestly didn't know what I was doing at the time. But looking at it now, it fits more as a patrol aircraft, which is why there's a P in its name.
What are the special things about this plane?
Honestly, I don't know....
It's a plane that can fly and can level itself at 282 km/h without autopilot and it means it's very stable.
It's a build where I spent some time doing research about Aircrafts and even the parts just to make every detail in this plane as realistic as possible, which means that most of the detail you see are not random they actually have purpose just like in real life.
I made this build with attention to small details as best as I could and with a lot of thought processes.
I'm obsessed with the ACL system on this thing. The plane lights just looks so cool and REAL at night!
Why did I made this?
This aircraft was not built simply to look good or to gain upvotes/points. Instead, I designed it as an experimental platform to help me refine my building techniques, learn new concepts, and gain experience within the game. The process itself was the main goal, making this build a valuable learning experience which is very fun!
Because of that, this craft serves as a testbed where I experiment with different ideas, techniques, design approaches and developing an efficient processes for future builds.
If you like this build
I am very open to feedback and constructive criticism. If you have the time, I would really appreciate your thoughts, reviews, or suggestions on what I could improve or do differently in future builds.
I am looking forward to creating more builds, learning along the way, and continuously improving my skills.
And with that... I hope you enjoy my first build!

Note: During a test flight after posting it, I realized I forgot to change the VTOL trim input for the inner flaps. As a result, when the VTOL trim is pushed all the way to the top, the inner flaps go straight to their maximum deflection, but the performance and manuaverability remain the same.
You can ignore this
Note for future self:
- I made a mistake on the main wing design of this aircraft, I used an anhedral configuration, which isn't very realistic. I later realized it reduces stability and can cause roll issues in real life, making it unsuitable for this aircraft's purpose. What I could have done is keep the wings at a neutral angle and only add a slight dihedral on the outer panels. so yeah... REALISM.
- Minor roll instability can be fixed with a Dihedral wing design. huge discovery lol.
- Use Anhedral only if you want more roll authority, and when the plane is just too stable that it resist roll input, good for fighter jets and also fine tuning their agility or an aircraft maneuverability.
- One thing I noticed about this craft is that it was SO SMALL, Next time, use the basic chair as a sizing reference to judge how big things should be!

@Yushiimeow man thanks for the answer , don't worry it's really cool! And for the amount of details it's pretty mobile friendly!
@Pakdaaircraftindustries Oh, do you mean the Deadrise angle? Like the V shaped hull 'cause this plane has a lot of curvature 😭😭
.
If that's what you're referring to, I built it using two separate blocks (one per side) and angled them at around 30 degrees to form the V shape. (I didn’t research it deeply, but shallow angles = better for calm/shallow seas, while steeper angles handle rough seas better.) I only build one side of the hull first. Once that side is fully finished and aligned, I mirror it to create the other side.
.
It's tricky to keep everything straight, since you have to compensate using the run and rise values. I mostly avoided changing the
heightorwidthvalue of the tank except where curvature was needed (like the front), and relied mainly on fuselage slicing and fine Rise/Run adjustments..
It took a lot of trial and error to get it right, definitely a patience test lol
this looks awesome, very detailed belly
Man this is so underrated, may I ask how do you make the curves for the belly of the aircraft?
Holy moly
@Nonso Thank you, I appreciate it!
Amazing those curves on the aircraft look really awesome
