Built alongside the X-47 Longsword, the RQ-220 Manta is a stealth UCAV engineered for swarm warfare, recon, and high-speed strike support. While visually similar to its manned counterpart, the Manta trades armor for speed and autonomy—built from a hybrid of titanium and a classified carbon composite designed for ultra-low observability under stress.

It runs a dual-mode propulsion system designed primarily by RosaCossetteDelise: six hyper-efficient micro-turbines sustain speeds around Mach 1.2 between 500 and 10,000 feet. But when needed, it shifts to a next-gen ramjet system, pushing the drone up to Mach 4 (~3,000 mph) from low to high altitudes with rapid acceleration and thermal masking intact. This onboard ramjet system first debuted on the NSP-609 Viper.

Its endurance is unmatched—over four days of operational time, with the ability to circle the globe in under 10 hours using in-flight drone-to-drone refueling protocols. Though this variant carries no weapons, it features a full operational suite for recon, EW, and battlefield networking.

Typically deployed in packs of 3–8, the Manta links to the X-47 Longsword via a distributed AI hive system, acting as an extension of the pilot’s intent. Missions include radar denial, strike swarming, and comm-layer recovery in satellite-blind zones.

The RQ-220 Manta isn’t just fast or smart—it’s a combat ghost. A new kind of warbird, built to outfly, outthink, and outlast anything in the sky.

There are future plans for building more of the RQ series, but some models will be intended to be massive or some maybe even smaller on the lookout!
