Long Description
The AT-100 Long Dart is a 100-millimeter high-velocity anti-armor gun system designed to solve a narrow but persistent problem: defeating contemporary armored threats at extended range without escalating caliber, logistics burden, or crew complexity.
The weapon uses a 100 mm × 1100 mm cartridge, paired with an L/65 barrel. This long bore length is not stylistic excess; it exists to extract maximum work from propellant gases while keeping chamber pressures within predictable limits. The result is a muzzle velocity of approximately 1,675 meters per second—high enough to favor kinetic penetration physics rather than chemical reliance. Velocity, in this design, is treated as reliability.
Two barrel configurations exist. Version 1 employs conventional rifling, optimized for early development rounds and transitional doctrine. Version 2 adopts a smoothbore, selected after test data demonstrated superior consistency with long-rod penetrators and reduced wear at sustained firing rates. The smoothbore is not an upgrade in prestige; it is an admission that stabilization by fin is more tolerant of manufacturing variance than stabilization by spin at these velocities.
“Long Dart” is a literal description. The system is built around elongated sub-caliber penetrators, not explosive mass. Lethality is achieved through sectional density and retained velocity, not blast. This simplifies ammunition handling, storage safety, and lifecycle cost, while aligning with THRC’s preference for predictable terminal behavior over spectacular effects.
Development began internally in late 1976, under the assumption that armor would improve faster than battlefield survivability systems. That assumption proved conservative. The weapon entered service in 1979 at a unit cost of approximately 35,000 Credits—intentionally set near parity with existing medium-caliber systems to discourage procurement hesitation. One Credit equals one U.S. dollar, a conversion chosen to remove abstraction from budgeting and force accountability.

@B1 Nice, but the receipt must be sent here or globally (In LRP Forum)?
Im interested in purchasing 1000
@SPsidearm That is Enchanted or Enhanced?
@BlackGearCompany
Enchanted HEAT-FS
@SPsidearm Nice, what type of ammo?
@AugustVonMartis Where this receipt will be sent? Here or in LRP Global (Forum)?
@BlackGearCompany Smoothbore versions, and 1000 APFSDS, 500 HEAT-FS and 300 HE-FRAG-FS
@BlackGearCompany
SS-554A for this cannon is being developed.
@BlackGearCompany I would take about 100 units
@SPsidearm When 100mm is too much against a man 😞
What about exports?
when SS119-A1 isn't enough.
