Born On The Bayou
We have revived a lost but not forgotten machine this time for you at Wavetech. The new Cayman Airboat is also a humble step away from the fancy and flashy speedboats and obscure beach contraptions. This boat is targeted for those who seek reliable transportation through the murky swamps and cruel landscapes.
The harsh and simple design comes from the 60s. The Cayman's hull was originally designed by United Boat Builders (UBB), the same guys who mainly produced the PBR boats that were used in Vietnam, but the plans were rejected by the US Army, so it never made it to production, until now. We have basically bought the license from UBB and added Takswagen's most reliable race engine, the Scorpion. The reason for this unexpected fusion is a cheap and light airboat for utility and hobby purposes.
But why is this so accessible?
Without telling any workshop secrets, the hull is cheap to produce. By planning, they had the easy production in mind to meet army standards. Production time of one Cayman hull barely reaches 20 minutes with modern technology. This, paired with the most reliable TW crate engine, allows access for cheap motorboating. And why the Scorpion v6? Besides the fact that it's technically bulletproof, it left a significant mark on different motorsport events. Not to mention the fact that tuner culture really loves the Scorpions, especially the Mk2 variants. This means they are highly accessible nowadays.
The range of usage is infinite. Sport and hobby, fishing, hunting, racing, up to the user. The Cayman is very modular by design; add a few seats to the front, and you have a sightseeing watercraft. Bring along some life support equipments, and you have rescue vessel. Tilt down the windshield and you have a hunting stand. Only one thing is important, Please use ear protection while you operate the boat!
