The TU-150 series, designed in 1954 and going into service in late 1958, was intended to be the Warsaw Pact country's answer to the Cedco/XVI Vixen. The TU-150 could reach a top speed of around 390 miles per hour, which was slower than the Vixen. However, the TU-150 could carry two ZiS-22 Nuclear Warheads, each packing a 10 megaton punch. The TU-150 also had a rear gunner, allowing it to defend against enemy aircraft and SAMs. This aircraft, shown in GDR colors, is the only survivor of the TU-150 program. The program was officially canceled in early 1988. This aircraft was found with flight records dating from 1960 to 1987. There were also records inside giving dates as to when the nuclear warheads were tested. The coordinates lead to the middle of Siberia.
