a pretty mundane sub, it do have a funni looking gun, and yes, that is how it looks, short-barreled 75mm(3in) gun with a round gunshield... it looks comical, cute even. oh did i mention that it can retract too?

notes : I quite like how this looks, however... making the gun work on this is a heaaadacheeeee, so I ditched it, granted, it's like, pretty old so.. idk, I'll make a new one when that gets into that, so enjoy the gun-less L-1.
The United States L-class submarines were a class of 11 submarines built 1914–1917, and were the United States Navy's first attempt at designing and building ocean-going submarines. At the time there was a significant gap in long-range submarine design compared with other major navies. The Group 2 L-boats designed by Lake Torpedo Boat Company (L-5 through L-8) were built to slightly different specifications from the other Group 1 L-boats (which were designed by Electric Boat) and are sometimes considered a separate L-5 class.
USS L-1 (SS-40) was an L-class submarine of the United States Navy. Her keel was laid down on 13 April 1914 by Fore River Shipbuilding Company in Quincy, Massachusetts. She was launched on 20 January 1915 sponsored by Mrs. Freeland A. Daubin, and commissioned on 11 April 1916 with Lieutenant Junior Grade Freeland A. Daubin in command.
