The Macchi M.C.72 is a sea-based aircraft designed and manufactured for the Schneider Trophy Race by Italian aircraft company Macchi. The world speed record it set in 1934 of 709km/h for a piston engine sea-based aircraft still remains to this day.

I absolutely love it! The racing seaplanes of that era were some of the most beautiful aircraft ever made. This one and the Supermarine S.6 series are my favourites
