A few tweaks on TheBoeingPerson's Simple Plane to improve flying, takeoff and landing performance, all the while keeping it as simple and as true to the original as possible. Use as AI traffic or spawn as air target for pre-WWII Pursuit ships, or just fly around in style befitting for a 1930's pulp adventurer.
Changes to the original:
1) Changed the pusher engine from a WWII radial to a standard flat engine and made a new custom 'engine' so I could mount the prop higher and increase clearance. Also added a vertical stabilizer to the rear fuselage as a prop guard and replaced the rear wheels with a standard set of basic wheels.
2) Deleted the fuel in the wing to move the center of gravity for-and downwards.
3) Increased the 'damper' settings on the wheels to keep the plane from bouncing too much when landing.
With this changes I was able to decrease the horsepower from 2000 HP to 500 and still get a craft capable of cruising at a decent 200 mph.
(Takeoff speed is 100 mph and the aircraft is able to start from USS Tiny and land on USS Beast without arrester hook)
Not changed:
1) No flaps or air brakes. May be in a future version, but with a minimum speed of 130 mph, you can do without. Of course you can always add some yourself
2) No labels, serial numbers or national insignia. Again, add your own if you want. I played around a bit with the custom colors. That should be enough.
Again, I made some improvements, but the main credit goes to TheBoeingPerson for building the original plane.
Happy Landings

Ps, I noticed that the right wheel is set a bit further after than the left. If you are a purist, feel free to give both wheels an equal z-value directly upon downloading.
Nice!
