At 10:51 am Beijing time on December 16, 1989, the CA981 flight carrying 200 passengers and 23 crew members took off from Beijing Capital International Airport. At 11:25, as the plane was passing over Jinan, a male passenger named Zhang Zhenhai handed a one cent banknote with threatening words to the flight attendant, coercing the pilot to land the plane in South Korea. He then claimed to have explosives on his body. The flight immediately contacted Seoul Gimpo International Airport in South Korea, but the South Korean side refused to land the plane and even prepared to deploy fighter jets to intercept it. After notifying Shanghai Airport of this matter, the flight was diverted to Japan and flew over Fukuoka Airport at 14:35 local time. Initially, the Japanese side refused to land, but due to insufficient fuel, they ultimately agreed to the flight's landing for humanitarian reasons. The plane landed at Fukuoka Airport at 14:52. After the plane landed at Fukuoka Airport, Zhang Zhenhai was informed by the flight attendants that he had arrived in Seoul and was taken to the rear cabin door. When the flight attendants opened the rear cabin door, he was pushed off the plane by the attendants and fell to the ground, causing a fracture. He was then helped onto a stretcher by Japanese police and sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. Subsequently, the captain contacted the relevant person in charge of Fukuoka Airport.Zhang Zhenhai (hijacker) kicked off the plane
