They bought their very first 727 in 1992, just when everyone started retiring their own 727s. and the 727 was a success for Steel Airways US. Right now, they are the only US Airline that operates passenger 727s. Steel Airways US operates 58 Boeing 727s, and 23 Boeing 737s. They are looking to buy another retro airliner, like the 767.
