A Boeing 737-200 aircraft, registration number B-2603, with an age of 12 years and a cumulative flight time of over 33000 hours, mainly operates regular flights from Songshan to Kaohsiung in Taiwan. Two weeks before the air crash, the aircraft made two emergency turns due to cabin depressurization, but only underwent temporary maintenance without thoroughly investigating structural issues. On August 22, 1981, while carrying out the mission of Flight FE103, the aircraft suddenly lost pressure and disintegrated in mid air about 14 minutes after takeoff at an altitude of approximately 16000 feet, resulting in the death of all 110 people on board. This became the famous San Yi air disaster in Taiwan's aviation history.
