About the history of Airbus A340-200/-300
The A340-200 and 300 are the initial variants of the successful quad engined A340 family of long haul widebodies. The A340 and closely related A330 were launched in June 1987, with the A340's first flight occurring on October 25 1991 (an A340-300). The A340 entered service with Lufthansa and Air France in March 1993, following JAA certification the previous December. The A340 shares the same flightdeck including side stick controllers and EFIS, plus flybywire, basic airframe, systems, fuselage and wing with the A330 (the flightdeck is also common to the A320 series). Power is from four CFM56s, the four engine configuration being more efficient for long range flights (as twins need more power for a given weight for engine out on takeoff performance) and free from ETOPS restrictions. The A340-300 has the same fuselage length as the A330-300, while the shortened A340-200 trades seating capacity for greater range (first flight April 1 1992). The heavier A340-300E is available in 271,000kg (597,450lb) and 275,000kg (606,275lb) max takeoff weights, their typical ranges with 295 passengers are 13,155km (7100nm) and 13,525km (7300nm) respectively. Power for these models is from 152.3kN (34,000lb) CFM56-5C4s (the most powerful CFM56s built). The first A340-300Es were delivered to Singapore Airlines in April 1996. The 275,000kg (606,275lb) max takeoff weight A340-8000 is based on the 200 but has extra fuel in three additional rear cargo hold tanks and offers a 15,000km (8100nm) range with 232 three class passengers (hence the A340-8000 designation). It too is powered by CFM56-5C4s. One has been built for the Sultan of Brunei. All versions are offered with underfloor passenger sleepers.

About the history of Iran introduced commercial aircraft after the 1979 Islamic Revolution
With the outbreak of the Iranian Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Pahlavi dynasty led by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi became history in a day. The Iranian hostage crisis that broke out in November of that year also led to the United States imposing sanctions on Iran for more than a year until the crisis was resolved. The subsequent Iran Iraq War prompted the United States to officially impose sanctions on Iran in 1987. However, until 1995, Iranian airlines could still purchase planes in Europe. Therefore, for example, Iran Air purchased six Fokker 100 aircraft from Dutch company Fokker in 1991 and three A300 aircraft from Airbus in 1994. In 1995, the sanctions began to deepen and extended to Europe. Trading with Iran will also be subject to sanctions, and this time the sanctions will be even stricter This has led to a sharp decrease in spare parts for Iran's civil aviation aircraft, and several methods have been used: purchasing aircraft materials on the black market so that the aircraft can fly normally, sealing some aircraft with longer flight years and removing their still usable components to supply to aircraft with shorter flight years, renting or purchasing Russian made aircraft such as Tupolev Tu-154, Ilyushin IL-62M, Il-76, Tupolev Tu-134.However, due to the unreliability of Russian made aircraft, multiple air crashes have occurred, making it a problem to purchase Western made aircraft. Therefore, Iran's civil aviation industry generally registers a shell company in other countries, such as Ukraine, Iraq, Armenia, etc.or entrusts some airlines from CIS countries to purchase retired aircraft from Western airlines under its name. For example, in 2006, Mahan Air used its shell company Blue Sky registered in Armenia to purchase retired aircraft, Three Boeing 747-400 aircraft were purchased from United Airlines in the United States and subsequently leased to Mahan Airlines in name, but were actually delivered directly to Mahan Airlines until the signing of the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, which eased US and Western sanctions on Iran. Iran quickly signed large-scale purchase agreements with Airbus and Boeing, such as ordering 118 aircraft from Airbus in 2016, including the ATR-72, A320, A330, A350, A380 series, and ordering 80 aircraft from Boeing, including 50 737 and 30 777 aircraft. However, in 2017, due to then US President Donald J. Trump tearing up the Iran nuclear agreement, the US resumed sanctions against Iran. Only thirteen ATR-72, one A321, and two A330-200 aircraft was delivered, and after tearing up the Iran nuclear agreement, Iran changed its way of introducing Western aircraft: After purchasing retired aircraft, it changed the aircraft registration number to any unknown country, such as Burkina Faso, Mali, etc.then applied for a delivery flight from the purchase location to that country, and then closed the transponder to fly directly to Iran's main airport.Through this method, Iran has introduced a large number of second-hand McDonnell Douglas MD-80, Airbus A319/A320 series, and Boeing 737CL/Classic series. However, due to sanctions, Iranian airlines have fewer and fewer international routes to operate, so airlines like Mahan Airlines have decided to sell their own Airbus A340-600. And one Boeing 747-300 series was handed over to Venezuelan Airlines, which was affected by COVID-19 in 2020 After the epidemic, Iran began to receive a large number of Airbus A340 series aircraft. Firstly, due to the epidemic, passenger flow has significantly decreased, and airlines need to cut expenses significantly. However, the economy and maintenance of Airbus A340 are significantly different from other aircraft such as Boeing 777-300ER. Therefore, airlines have begun to retire a large number of Airbus A340 series aircraft. Secondly, Iran has taken over many Airbus A340 before 2020, and has formed an industry chain in maintenance and upkeep. Thirdly, the market for Airbus A340 series in the second-hand aircraft market is relatively average, not as popular as Boeing 767 and 777.Therefore, purchasing Airbus A340 will not attract too much attention and is also easier Purchased.
