A Prototype Strike Fighter that was created at the behest of NATOs procurement of a Strike Fighter Capable of carrying Convenientional and Nuclear Weapons (NBMR-1 Program).
However the FIAT G.91 did win the NBMR-1 Competition.
The original concept allowed the YX-190 to carry either Six 250 Pound Bombs, 4 ATGMs or 2 Air to Air Missiles. The main armament was a 20mm Vulcan Cannon but this did weigh the plane down compared to other cannons.
