Designed as one of many replacement fighters for the F-16 Fighting Falcon as the air superiority and ground attack aircraft, the Leopard's key features include a lightly framed fiberglass reinforced clear plastic canopy offering excellent visibility, side-mounted control stick to ease control while maneuvering, an ejection seat reclined 30 degrees from to reduce the effect of g-forces on the pilot and use of a relaxed static stability / fly-by-wire flight control system that helps to make it an agile aircraft. The F-108 has an internal M197 electric 5 barrel cannon and 7 locations for mounting weapons and other mission equipment 2 of which can be fitted with external 500gallon fuel tanks. The F-108's official name is "Leopard", but "Kicker" is commonly used by its pilots and crews, because of the aircrafts ability to perform extreme maneuvers.
