The F-73 is a heavily X-73 converted for fighter service for the USLAF, the aircraft entered service in 1965, and is still in service with about 39 of them in service as of 2024. About 175 aircraft were lost. The aircraft has variable sweep wings (VTOL to control them), and 2 engines vertically mounted ontop of each other.
