The P-10 Boar, named after its tusk like features, was designed as a CAS aircraft. It never left the exipirimental stage and was scrapped, for the most part, before the end of WWII. The blueprints, however, were saved and redesigned with jet engines. The result was the monster we all know and love the A-10 Warthog. The P-10 does have its issues with unstable frame caused by the 30mm canons, the precursor to the GAU-8, and stuggles to keep the weight from pulling the plane down were a major factor in its scrapping.
