The B-111 “Kestrel” is a supersonic bomber aircraft and the first one with the conventional bomb bay doors used on most aircraft. The kestrel can hold a variety of ordnance, from the tiny “Assaulter” retracting rocket pods to the huge Alvinheimer-BV-12 bomb. For a supersonic aircraft the kestrel didn’t have swept wings, and so a lot of stress was put on the wings. However after the test flight ended badly, people decided to make the wings stronger. So using reinforced metal bars for the frame, the B-111 could fly over 700 mph effortlessly with its 6 engines. The B-111 is now used for mid-range bombing and surveilance.
