Designation: F-40D Manta Ray
Nickname: The Blue Angel

Updated Version - Deleted the old one after I found a couple problems that needed fixing.

Brief description and Lore:
  • Building upon the success of its predecessor, the F-40C, the F-40D sets a new standard in modern aerial warfare, meeting the demands of dynamic battlefields with its advanced features and enhanced capabilities.

  • In a world where technological prowess shapes the destiny of nations, the F-40D Manta Ray emerges as the epitome of cutting-edge fighter aircraft, poised to reshape the course of aerial combat. The F-40D is the culmination of extensive research, unmatched expertise, and a vision to create a superior war machine.

  • Inspired by the grace and agility of the majestic Manta Ray gliding effortlessly through ocean depths, the F-40D shares its namesake's ability to dominate its environment. Its elegant yet robust design embodies versatility, with an array of improvements meticulously incorporated to elevate its performance. Featuring two specially made wing mounted pylons (inspired by the cephalic fins of manta rays irl), the F-40D becomes an aerial platform capable of launching the new DL Typhoon-I cruise missile.

Instructions:

AG1 - Open/Close Canopy
AG2 - NAV Lights
AG3 - Cockpit Lights
AG4 - Jettison All Payload
AG5 - Arresting Hook
AG6 - Jettison Napalm
AG7 - Jettison Rockets and Cruise Missiles
VTOL - Flaps
Afterburners - Engages at 95% Throttle

Typhoon-I Cruise Missile aka T-I S3
switch
To arm the cruise missiles switch on the "UHF Radio Communication" in the cockpit (circled in green above).
When launching the missiles, flip inverted (it's cooler that way), since they had to be mounted upside-down. It also prevents the missiles from diving into the ground upon launch, depending on the aircraft's altitude above ground.

Fuel Indicator
fuel

  • The text will change from green to yellow then red based on the fuel level (100% to %50 to 25% respectively).

Take-Off and Landings

  • For take off set flaps (VTOL) to 50% down and throttle up as usual.

  • When landing (without payload) throttle down to 1-2% (trust me on this one) and deploy flaps to 100% down. You should be able to maintain a decent glide slope for both carrier and regular landings.

  • Refer to F-40C for more information on the reticle design, afterburner modes, and the nose mounted turrets.

Newly Added Features:
[Minor fixes, improved cockpit functionality, stronger landing gear, increased capable deceleration, features a wider array of weapons (rocket pods, bombs, cruise missiles, 100 mm canon), fuel indicator, Ray Bar wing pylons, improved RDM Javelin J-1 accuracy, added a catapult launch button and the throttle stick is now controllable (figured out why it was only responding to keyboard inputs)]
