Description

The Sg-37 1 is a heavy attacker aircraft made by Selthiag Aviation Group in 1046*, although it wouldn't be used by the Aerial branch of Pabkarilian Army (A fictional country's army).
This aircraft has been fitted with 18 bombs total.

It was initially designed as a medium bomber but further development turned it into a heavy attacker. Expecting to be used as a ground attack aircraft led to the strengthening of the entire airframe to sustain some light AA fire and tighter turns, as well as adding external hardpoints on the wings for more suspended armament. A 57mm cannon was also added at the nose of the aircraft for direct anti-vehicular purposes.

The aircraft is powered by 2 24-cylinder radial engines with the power output rated at 1870hp. The relatively lower power along with the addition of a cooling fan behind the prop may have helped to improve cooling at the cost of performance. It's undercarriage, although in a tricycle layout, does have some capability to be flown from more rougher or less prepared airfields. The large wing area allowed the aircraft to have a wing loading less than 160 kg/m2 without suspended armament

The aircraft does have some disadvantages that will be shown here. Although the fuselage was strengthened and being better protected, the plane itself is not always capable of sustaining light AA fire for long periods, another problem was the size of the wings , which needed a large wing area to keep a lower wing loading, the large size would present an easier target to hit. The speed of the aircraft, due to the loaded weight and the engine itself, is rather slow, which would be more easier to be shot down by medium types of AA guns. The defensive armament only consisted of 2 11.3mm machineguns, although necessary to have a defensive gun, it was considered inadequate in some standards. Both the 57mm gun and the 11.3mm machinegun that was used for offensive purposes both have differing muzzle velocities.
